The 4th of July is one of our favorite holidays. Generally, Independence Day is full of parades, barbecues, picnics, and concerts, to name a few. However, with this year’s COVID-19 pandemic one of America’s favorite holidays will unfortunately have to look a little different than we are used to. With so much patriotism and pride for our country in the air this weekend, we sincerely hope that every American has an opportunity to take some time off and enjoy it with their families and friends while still following CDC social distancing regulations and any state restrictions. As Arizona Injury Lawyers, we know that the excitement of this holiday can sometimes cloud judgment. It is our job as members of the community to remind everyone that to have a successful Fourth of July, it must be a fun AND safe one.
Due to COVID-19 many cities and states have decided to cancel annual firework displays, parades, and festivals. Many parks and picnic areas will also remain closed to prevent gatherings that will further the risk of COVID-19 spreading. Of course, this is supposed to be a time of celebration. So, if you do plan on partaking in any 4th of July festivities this weekend, we simply urge you to follow CDC guidelines and adhere to any other Arizona or city restrictions regarding group gatherings and social distancing.
If you are personally hosting a backyard barbecue or other celebration, here are a few recommendations for you and your guests:
If you are traveling this weekend, it is vital that you be vigilant and cautious on the roadways. The 4th of July is one of the most dangerous and deadly holidays of the year. With more people moving in and out of our state celebrating, there is an increased likelihood of motor vehicle crashes. Undoubtedly, many of the festivities occurring this week will involve a few adult beverages. With the widespread availability of various rideshare services, there is simply no excuse to drink and drive. Furthermore, for those of you that are designated drivers, be wary of erratic or dangerous drivers around you.
During these times of uncertainty, we understand that celebrating the moments that bring family and friends together are important to us all. However, the pandemic isn’t over and as a community we must work together to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable members. Also, as your Arizona Injury Lawyers, we must remind you that unintended injuries can happen at any given moment. If you or a loved one suffers personal injuries, we, at Torgenson Law, are here for you. Again, happy 4th of July and remember to call or text us (602) 726-0747 for a free consultation if you have a potential personal injury claim.
