Valerie grew up in a small farm town in the central valley of California. At a young age Valerie’s parents taught her to be independent and to take pride in hard work. She moved to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego where she received degrees in Psychology and Speech Communication Studies. She then received her paralegal certificate with a focus in civil litigation from the University of San Diego Paralegal Program. Given her background in plaintiff’s personal injury and in legal administration, Valerie found Torgenson Law to be a perfect fit when she moved to Phoenix in early 2015.
As the firm’s legal administrator, Valerie manages the facilities and operations, accounting, and human resources. She is also involved in the firm’s marketing, budgeting, and forecasting efforts. As a litigation paralegal, Valerie enjoys being a part of a team that all have the same objective: to make their clients whole again.
Valerie enjoys being an active member of the legal community. She served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Paralegal Association and was a representative for the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. She is currently a member of the Association of Legal Administrators, Phoenix Chapter’s Association of Legal Administrators, and the University of San Diego Alumni Association.
Valerie is an avid cook and gardener. She also enjoys traveling and interior design. Most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their adorable girls, Lucy Q & Micki J.
